From Partner to Pioneer: Why NFON Is Accelerating the Next Phase of Intelligent Business Communication

At this year’s NEXUS Connect, our annual gathering of partners from across the DACH region, we aligned around a clear and shared ambition: to accelerate the transition from cloud telephony to AI-powered business communication and turn strategy into measurable execution. Learn more about our partner initiatives and become the next NFON Partner.

Across two days in Munich, management keynotes set the strategic direction for the year ahead and reinforced the strength of our roadmap. Breakout sessions translated that direction into practical discussions around AI use cases, modular licensing and concrete growth opportunities across both existing and new customer environments. In the Innovation & Experience Hub, partners engaged directly with NFON experts, live demonstrations and solution integrations.

A defining milestone was the launch of the first-ever NEXUS Connect Hackathon, where partners worked hands-on with our AI portfolio in realistic customer scenarios. The outcome was clear: these solutions are not conceptual. They are available, commercially relevant and ready to scale.

The management keynote by CEO Andreas Wesselmann and CFO Alexander Beck set a clear tone for the day. It was not simply an update on products. It was a statement about transformation, stability and shared responsibility in a rapidly evolving market.

“We Are Not in a Vacuum”

“We are not in a vacuum,” Andreas Wesselmann emphasised at the beginning of his address.

The business landscape, he explained, is shaped by political shifts, economic pressure and rapid technological acceleration. Topics such as digital sovereignty, European providers for European businesses, data residency and control over customer data are no longer secondary considerations, they are strategic factors influencing investment decisions.

At the same time, economic uncertainty increases the need for solutions that improve efficiency and productivity. In this context, intelligent communication systems are not experimental innovations. They are tools for operational resilience.

14 Months of Transformation

Reflecting on the past year, Andreas Wesselmann described the evolution of NFON as significant and deliberate.

“NFON has reinvented itself in the last 14 months,” he stated.

What began as early experimentation with AI has evolved into a fully integrated portfolio. Discussions that once centred around writing prompts have transitioned into deployable solutions that address concrete customer needs.

“We now have a complete solution portfolio,” Andreas Wesselmann said, referring to the modular ecosystem that spans cloud telephony, intelligent assistants embedded directly into telephony environments, AI-powered front desk automation, specialised voicebots and chatbots, and integrated contact centre solutions.

The message was clear: these solutions are not future concepts. They are available, operational and designed to deliver measurable value.

Financial Stability Enables Innovation

Alexander Beck reinforced this direction with a focus on financial strength and long-term reliability.

“The financial development of NFON is very, very stable and very solid,” he said.

Growth in revenue and earnings, combined with a strong liquidity position, provides the foundation for continued investment. The strategic direction is centred on innovation and growth, not as isolated initiatives, but as a sustained trajectory.

This stability is more than a financial metric. It is an enabler. It allows NFON to invest consistently in product development, expand its portfolio and support partners in unlocking new market potential.

“There Is No Time to Lose”

Urgency was another defining theme of the keynote.

“There is no time to lose. The wheel is turning faster and faster,” Andreas Wesselmann noted.

AI transformation is accelerating across industries. Customer expectations are shifting towards holistic solutions rather than isolated features. Businesses increasingly expect modular systems that integrate seamlessly into their existing processes — from CRM environments to operational systems.

NFON’s response is a modular yet open architecture, supported by publicly available APIs and expanded integration capabilities. The objective is not simply to offer individual functionalities, but to provide a connected ecosystem that spans telephony, intelligent assistants, voice automation and contact centre applications.

Innovation with Business Value

Importantly, the leadership team made it clear that innovation must remain purposeful.

“It is not innovation for innovation’s sake,” Andreas Wesselmann explained. “Whenever we innovate, whenever we use AI, it must create business value.”

This principle is paired with simplicity. NFON’s ambition is that the standard use case can be activated within minutes, enabling partners to demonstrate tangible value quickly and expand from there.

The combination of technological depth and operational simplicity was positioned as a defining characteristic of NFON’s strategy.

Recognition and Responsibility

The transformation underway has also been acknowledged externally. NFON successfully renewed its C5 Type 1 and Type 2 certifications, received industry recognition as “Manufacturer of the Year”, and was awarded the Top Employer Award for the second consecutive year. In addition, the company has been recognised as one of Germany’s Top 100 most innovative mid-sized companies.

For the leadership team, these recognitions are not endpoints. They reinforce responsibility to continue investing, to continue innovating and to continue delivering measurable value.

“We are ready for the next step,” Andreas Wesselmann concluded, inviting partners to move forward together on the journey from partner to pioneer.

Thank You to Our Partners

NEXUS Connect 2026 once again demonstrated that intelligent business communication is not built in isolation. It is shaped through collaboration, feedback and shared ambition.

We would like to sincerely thank all our partners who joined us, contributed to the discussions, experimented and explored in the Hackathon and continue to actively shape our ecosystem. Your expertise, market proximity and entrepreneurial drive are essential to turning strategy into measurable customer value.

The roadmap is clear. The foundation is strong. And the next phase of growth will be defined not only by technology — but by partnership.

We look forward to continuing this journey together.
