Data protection and cookies

Protecting your personal data and your privacy is the primary concern of NFON AG. NFON AG collects, processes and uses your personal data in compliance with the data protection laws of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as the privacy regulations of the European Union.

Collection, processing and usage of personal data

As a rule, you can use the service of this website without disclosing your personal data. Personal data implies information that can be used to disclose your identity, e.g. your full name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.

On the website, personal data is processed if you decide to fill in a contact form or enquiry form, or if you have concluded a contract with NFON AG. The personal data is collected, processed and used solely for the purpose intended.

As a customer or partner, you can log in to the user/admin portal of the website with your user ID and password.

Data may be transmitted to partner companies (vicarious agents) for business purposes. Within this scope, the amount of data transmitted is kept to a minimum and solely serves the purpose of establishing contacts, consultation and, if applicable, subsequent conclusion of a contract, as well as the provision of services. The data collected and exchanged in this respect is used exclusively as agreed with and instructed by NFON AG. Within the framework of the statement of work stipulated in this agreement, NFON AG reserves the right to comprehensive decisional authority regarding the type, volume and methods of data processing, which it may substantiate through individual instructions. The partner companies act solely on behalf of and as instructed by NFON AG.
You have, at any time, the right to revoke your given consent with effect from the future. For any queries in this regard, please contact the NFON AG data protection office (refer to ‘Right to Information’).

All data retrieved from this website is logged. The following data is stored for each data retrieval:

  • Status code (successful, file not found, redirected, etc.)
  • Volume of transmitted data
  • Linked websites
  • Browser identification

The data is logged to ensure the operational security and stability of our systems. We do not use the data to identify the website visitors personally.

Usage for statistical purposes

We use Google Analytics so as to be able to continuously optimise our website. For more information on Google Analytics, please refer to the section “Internet services and social networks”.

Cookies and other technologies

Cookies may be set when you visit the website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer’s hard drive and enable user recognition, but do not allow personal identification. Cookies help you to anonymously access the website and make it easier to use.

Web beacons (or so-called tracking pixels) are also used for the same purpose. Web beacons are small images that can be embedded on websites, which enable log-file recording and log-file analysis, and thus are used for statistical evaluations.

In addition, they can generally prevent or stop the storage of cookies, as you are required to approve the setting of cookies. You can manage this for each website using the settings of your respective browser. You can also delete the already set cookies in your browser settings later. Please note that as a rule, opting out from the setting of cookies is technically effected by setting an opt-out cookie. Thus, an additional cookie is saved on your computer which prevents relevant information from being transmitted to the website operator. Therefore, when you delete the saved cookies on your PC, you should also delete these opt-out cookies. If later a cookie is set again, e.g. for website optimisation, then the information is again transmitted to the website operator.
If you are using more than one browser, you should apply these settings in each of your browsers. Please follow the instructions of your respective browser manufacturer. We would like to mention here that if you choose not to accept any cookies, then some functions may not work properly while using this website.

Internet services and social networks

NFON AG constantly tries out and tests new services to facilitate web-optimised and up-to-date distribution of content. NFON AG links your service to social media such as Facebook, Google Plus or Twitter.
For this purpose, NFON AG integrates plug-ins of the following providers on its website:

Google Analytics

Usage of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies” - text files that are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. On behalf of the website operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports regarding website activity, and to provide the website operator with further services related to website and Internet usage.

Protection of your personal data

IP anonymisation for Google Analytics has been activated on this website in order to protect your personal data. In the event IP anonymisation is enabled on this website, your IP address will first be abbreviated by Google within member states of the European Union or other signatories of the Treaty of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not linked with other Google data.
Should we have additional personal data of our website users, we do not link these with website tracking data or other non-personal data.

Deactivation of website tracking by the user

You have the option of preventing the storage of all cookies using the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website as well as other websites to their full extent. Furthermore, you can prevent the transmission of the data generated by the cookie related to your use of this website (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of such data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link:https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. In this case, a special opt-out cookie is set that prevents the future capturing of your usage data when you visit this website.

Usage of Google Analytics Advertising Features

Apart from the standard configuration of Google Analytics, this website also uses other functions of Google Analytics that facilitate interest-based advertising as well as advertising based on the surfing behaviour of users. For this purpose, Google Analytics uses a third-party cookie by DoubleClick to analyse the surfing behaviour of users on various websites. Using this data, statistical information about demographic data and interest areas of website users can be derived.

We would like to expressly point out that we cannot see the data of individual users, and the statistical data used by us cannot be traced to specific users

After having visited our website a few visitors may see advertisements of our website being displayed on other websites. This form of ad placement is known as remarketing or retargeting. If you wish to opt out of the placement of these ads, we recommend you to deactivate website tracking using one of the above-mentioned options. Google also offers you the option of managing cookies for ads preferences on your own: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/technologies/ads/

Facebook

Our website uses plug-ins provided by the social network Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA). Facebook plug-ins can be identified on our website by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button. Please refer to the following link for an overview of all Facebook plug-ins: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins/

When you visit our website, a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server is established via the plug-in. Facebook thus receives the information that you have visited our website with your IP address. If you click on the “Like” button while you are logged in to your Facebook account, you can link the content of our sites to your Facebook profile. Therefore, Facebook can associate your visit to our sites with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of websites, do not have access to the contents of transmitted data as well as its usage through Facebook. You can find further information in Facebook’s data protection declaration on http://www.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not want Facebook to be able to associate your visit to our sites with your Facebook user account, then please log out of your Facebook user account.
