In emergency situations it is vital to act fast. Most of the time, people react irrational, too fast and incorrect in stressful situations. It is therefore good to implement an automatic alarm system that monitors and steers predefined processes.

The digital alarm and communciation server is a alarm server system that alarms, informs and mobilizes employees in emergency situations. Via text-to-voice announcements, text and multimedia messages, telephone conferences, group calls, and many other functions, the DAKS is a perfect add-on to your PBX. The alarm system is directly attached to the PBX via a VoIP connection.
The following products can be used:
- DAKS-ECO 100
- DAKS-ECO 200
- DAKS-PRO 100
- DAKS-PRO 300
- Upgradeable older systems
The alarm system is at the customer's location "on premise" (locally implemented and administered). This allows for an easy implementation of contact interfaces. In emergency situations, a predefined emergency scenario can be automatically followed.
The scenario can be
… an emergency conference
… disturbing current connections to enable the participant to access the emergency conference
… disturbing current redirections to enable the persons to access the emergency conference
… activating sirens, announcements and warning lights
… following a predefined emergency plan via automatic alarms
… broadcast calls
… activating a crisis team
There are different reasons for an emergency
… in the hospital for patients
… through voluntary or involuntary alarms
… in the industry when machines stop working
… in offices for events with high outreach and fast development (chemical accident, floods, etc)
… in Schulen, Kindergärten durch Geiselnahme
… catastrophies
… overregional crisis management and its coordination
Supporting day-to-day work processes
… service orders in hotels
… automatic control of blinds or air conditioning
… parralel calls with many devices
… distribution of information
Alarms have to be receipted to ensure guaranteed availability and sending of the emergency. All processes are saved as log files. All emergency processes are therefore transparent.
The server can only be implemented by certified partners or personell as not all situations can be covered at all times. Read more in the chapter Intitial operation.
The alarm server in combination with the PBX is not approved for the use in situations that are life threatening, dangerous to health or require treatment. We do not assume liability for any wrong implementation.

DAKS-ECO 100 - Interfaces and periphery

DAKS-ECO 200 Rel. 2 - Interfaces and periphery

The performance can vary in accordance with the version and used hardware.
Performance indicator | |
Hardware | - Activation via TDM/ ISDN and VoIP - Redundant power supply - Incoming contacts - Outgoing contacts - Storage for announcements - Ingoing and outgoing audio - Radio-controlled clock - LAN interface - Add on possibilty for channels, contacts and interfaces |
Software | - Text message to GSM - Pager support - Smartphone support - Access with multiple admins possible - multi-client capability - Text 2 Voice - Participation list with personal info - PIN numbers (to start activities, receipts etc) - Automatic data saving - Import function for data import - Caller identification at dialing - Individual and customer specific DAKS GUI - Individual log in and off of participants to ensure no alarm during absence - Time table for dependant anouncements - Holiday dependant anouncements - Support of linked anouncements - Support of high and low priority activities - Redundancy - Several priority levels - Software add-ons - Application independent special functions |
Data interfaces | - Serial special protocols - LAN based special protocols - ESPA –X add on function |
Broadcast | - Notification of more than one person - Broadcast calls - Multiple destinations per broadcast call group - Multiple simultaneously broadcast calls - Recording of anouncements from the telephone - Broadcast calls with ad hoc anouncement - Time-controlled broadcast - Broadcast call resolution via console / PC / E-Mail (SMTP) - Silent alarm - Monitoring of ongoing broadcast calls from the console - Receipt per PIN - Receipt per RR to the alarm system - Broadcast call with two step receipt - Broadcast confirmation with entering of the estimated time of arrival - Participant specific reiceipt options - Entering of the PIN for identification - Follow broadcast call even with positive broadcast call event - Send emails - Support broadcast call special functions (e.g. collection group, deputy etc) |
Alarm conferences | - Conferences that are started via broadcast call - Meet me conferences - Multiple conferences simultaneously - Time-controlled conferences - Ad hoc conferences - Secret conferences with access control |
Features between DAKS & the PBX | - Different call signalling (alarm call, important call, regular call) - Direct talking (automatic activation of the speaker) |
Input and output devices | - Standard SIP device - DECT or WIFI handset - Various alarm ringtones for snom and Yealink devices - All devies that have contact interfaces |
Most of the above mentioned functions were tested with snom or Yealink devices. We do not assume liability for any functional deviances with other devices e.g. Mitel or Panasonic devices.
The server can only be implemented by certified partners or personell as not all situations can be covered at all times.
Partners and personell are appropriately trained to configure the DAKS and connect it to the PBX. They have been handed out equipment and documentation to properly install a DAKS setting.
It is not possible to hand out this material to any other person. Find a list of certified DAKS partners here.
If you need to upgrade from an older on premise DAKS system to the cloudbased PBX solution, the partner has to get into contact with Tetronik first.

In cooperation with Tetronik, the migration effort and cost for the implementation of the alarm server will be verified.
Note the current known issues concerning DAKS as described in the chapter Known issues.
- At the moment only "ringtone 5" is available for the DAKS alarm signal. You can configure the tone in the administration portal. All alarm tones are only supported with snom and Yealink devices.
- The intercom function has to be activated per extension. For the future we plan to have a work around for the manual activation and to allow automatic intercom calls from the DAKS server to all extensions in the case of an emergency.
- The DND (do not disturb) function cannot be ignored or deactivated from the DAKS server. It is in the making to have a work around the DND feature in case of an emergency.
Automatic alarm in a hospital
With an automatic alarm system, the person in need can be assured that the appropriate helper is notified. Emergency calls can be signaled with an accoustic sound and display information containing the location of the person in need can be transfered. The call has to be receipted by the receiver, otherwise the emergency chain continues to proceed. If the call is receipted, automatic listening can be activated, e.g. to hear help screams or other emergency sounds.
Industry
Via activation of interfering contacts / emergency stops etc. appropriate personell can be reached to repair the defect device in no time. An emergengy conference can be build up to talk about further measurements with a specific group of persons. Hence, the defect device can be deactivated immediately and downtime minimized.
Banking sector
An emergency conference will be initated. In order to reach all necessary people, an emergency sound is signaled to everyone occupied with other calls. The calls are stopped as soon as possible to enable the person to participate in the emergency conference.
Trans-sectoral
Via activation of interference contacts / emergency stops, the DAKS is able to manage a common internal and external coordination of an emergency case. This includes evacuation plans and the integration of external rescue parties.
