Consent – Tracking


With the confirmation you are giving your consent that NFON AG may transfer and process your data for the purposes of analysis by a variety of service providers and by installing cookies. Analysis purposes include both the evaluation of visits to the website, https://www.nfon.com and also the transfer of the data to third party suppliers, such as Xing, Facebook and YouTube, by means of integrating plug-ins. For these purposes the data are transferred to third countries and insofar as this is possible, they are transferred only in anonymised form. When data are transferred to a third country, in which accordingly, the level of data protection is less stringent, the processing of data pursuant to national laws cannot be ensured. Call Waiting Function

The call waiting function is a feature of digital telephony. The function is often displayed using the english term Call Waiting. With call waiting, a party can be notified of a new incoming call while on a call. Call waiting uses a brief sound, typically two short, quick tones. With call waiting, the caller will not hear a busy signal if the line is being used, but hear the normal ringing. For the party receiving the call, call waiting means the call they are on will not block the line when waiting for an important call.

Call waiting options for the party called

The party being called has several options when hearing the call waiting sound indicating a new incoming call. They can answer, ignore or reject the second call. To answer the second call, they will need to decide what to do with the call they are on. It can be ended or placed on hold using the functions consultation, hold and toggle. Some networks also allow you to answer the new call and use three-way calling.

Enabling and disabling the call waiting function

Whether the call waiting function can be enabled depends on several factors. Both the telephone network and the devices must support this function. When using telephone systems, they must also be compatible with call waiting. In addition to Integrated Services for Digital Network (ISDN) and Voice over IP telephony (VoIP), call waiting is also available on many cell phone networks.
On many telephone networks call waiting can be enabled by dialing * 4 3 #. Dialing # 4 3 # will then disable call waiting. After entering this code you will typically hear a message from the provider. To check if call waiting is enabled, dial * # 4 3 #.
